Hawai'i's culture is a comfortable blend of many traditions.  Yes, Polynesian practices and beliefs shaped Hawai'i's attitude toward life (the "Aloha Spirit" and sense of hospitality it generates).  But waves of Japanese, Chinese, Filipinos and others reshaped it into its very own way of life.  More important:  Hawai'i feels both familiar and exotic.  This balance makes Hawai'i one of the very few destinations in the world that almost everyone finds appealing.
  2. The interest in Hawai'i history and culture has grown.  Today's inhabitants are doing all they can to preserve and renew the read Hawai'i of centuries past.
  3. Many travelers primarily visit Hawai'i for its culture.  This comes as a surprise to many:  Hawai'i's visitors include historical or cultural activities in their stay.
